All Handpieces sent to Handpiece Express undergo a series of exhaustive tests designed to ensure that your handpiece is returned in a condition that meets or exceeds the tolerances established by the original manufacturer.

Whichever level of service you choose for your equipment, Handpiece Express undertakes the following tests as standard:

Speed Measurement
We measure the speed of your Handpiece in revolutions per minute, as it should be running within 10% of the speed of which it was designed. The results of this test are a good indicator of your surgery's maintenance procedures, as poorly maintained handpieces tend to run slow.

Diagnostic Acoustic Analyser
The performance of a handpiece can be determined by noise analysis. The Diagnostic Acoustic Analyser is an integral part of our service and measures the noise, frequency and speed output of running handpieces. By analysing this data we can establish that the balance, concentricity and bearing performance are all within the precise quality standards for each individual make and model of handpiece. Therefore, we can guarantee that when your handpiece is returned it will be functioning within the same parameters of a new handpiece.

Turbine Balance
Turbine Imbalance can cause premature failure of the turbine or noise pollution. Our suppliers use state of the art equipment to balance the turbines to eliminate these problems.

Concentricity Test
Unless your turbine is running concentrically, it will not function properly, therefore every handpiece is tested for a concentricity rating before and after repair.

BACK

Autochuck Pull Force Test
Patient safety is of paramount importance and we use a calibrated pull force meter to gauge how many Newton's of pull are required to remove a locked bur. All turbines, which do not meet safety specifications, should be replaced.

Precision Bearings
High-speed dental bearings operating at up to 500,000rpm are in a class of their own. Leading handpiece manufacturers, for example Anthogyr, Bien Air, Kavo and Sirona have inspected and accredited our repair facility and technicians so we can therefore repair to original specification. In addition we work in partnership with Barden/FAG, the pre-eminent manufacturer of super precision ball bearings. Barden super precision bearings excel in applications where bearings of a lesser quality have failed. Superior accuracy, reliability of operation, long life, high running speeds and low noise and vibration are all qualities of the Barden/FAG brand.

Certified Parts & Inspection
Our trained technicians ensure the quality of your handpiece repair by individually inspecting testing and certifying all replacement parts. We give you our assurance that we do not employ used or uncertified parts in our facility.

Technicians
All our technicians have undergone an Intensive training programme in all aspects of handpiece repairs, including theoretical and practical training, competency testing and continued education.
